CannaWorkforce Solutions’ Recap of the Catch a Cont@ct Career Summit

Maggie Shea, partner of CannaWorkforce Solutions, and the team had the privilege of attending the second Catch a Cont@ct Career Summit at the Hyatt Regency in Rochester, NY on July 29th, 2023. Hosted by New York State Cannabis Connect (NYSCC), the summit served as a place for both job seekers and businesses to come together and make connections. The event was supported by the NYS Department of Labor, which is actively looking to help progress the industry through hiring tools and support.  

For job seekers, the Catch a Cont@ct Career Summit was a chance to connect and engage with cannabis businesses, igniting potential career opportunities within the cannabis sector. For businesses, it presented the opportunity to meet their business requirements by connecting with enthusiastic professionals possessing transferable skills that are in demand in the market. The keynote speakers were Tiffany Walters, (founder and CEO of NYSCC), and her partner Jumaane Hughes (COO). They stressed the importance of cultivating a community with equal access and opportunity for all in cannabis. 

 Many vendors and sponsors attended the event. Maggie and CannaWorkforce Solutions booth, engaged in valuable conversations, exchanged ideas and experiences, and created contacts with the many people that stopped by their booth! It was a successful day of sowing seeds of collaboration and the shaping of a promising industry!
